HUGH GORGE TO ALICE SPRINGS | REMOTE HIGH-CLEARANCE 4WD TRANSFER

Finish your Larapinta Trail adventure with a reliable private 4WD transfer from remote Hugh Gorge back to Alice Springs with Larapinta Shuttle & Larapinta Legends.

Our specialised remote transfer service uses our high-clearance Ford Everest 4WD to access Hugh Gorge, located at the junction of Sections 5 and 6 of the Larapinta Trail.

PRIVATE 4WD TRANSFER – $620 (1–4 PASSENGERS)

One fixed price for your private vehicle, whether you’re travelling solo or with up to three fellow hikers.

IMPORTANT – HUGH GORGE PICKUP LOCATION

Pickup is FROM the Hugh Gorge vehicle access car park, approximately 150 metres from the Larapinta Trail trailhead shelter.

Our vehicle does NOT collect directly from the trailhead shelter. Hikers must walk approximately 150 metres to the designated vehicle access car park.

Please arrive at the pickup location 10–15 minutes before your confirmed departure time.

All transfers require manual confirmation and are subject to vehicle availability, road access and weather conditions.

Your pickup date and time are not guaranteed until confirmed by Larapinta Shuttle & Larapinta Legends.

REMOTE ACCESS & ROAD CONDITIONS

Hugh Gorge is accessed via remote, rugged, high-clearance 4WD tracks. Travel includes approximately 1.5 hours on unsealed 4WD tracks before reaching the sealed road back to Alice Springs.

Heavy rainfall, flash flooding, washouts and road closures can prevent access, sometimes for several days after rain.

For safety reasons, transfers may be delayed, rescheduled, modified or cancelled if access is unsafe or restricted. Our standard Terms & Conditions apply.

IMPORTANT – LIMITED COMMUNICATION

Hugh Gorge has little or no mobile phone reception.

Please ensure your pickup date, time and meeting point are confirmed before commencing your hike. Last-minute changes or communication may not be possible.

We strongly recommend carrying a PLB or satellite communication device and allowing flexibility in your hiking itinerary.
