Our Standley Chasm food drop service provides a convenient and reliable way to restock your food and hiking supplies while trekking the Larapinta Trail.

What’s Included – $90 First Container

  • 55L food drop container hire – Suitable for approximately 1–4 hikers, depending on food and supply requirements.
  • Pre-trek container delivery to your nominated Alice Springs accommodation reception / storage room, normally the day before your arrival.
  • Collection of your packed container from your accommodation.
  • Transport and delivery to Standley Chasm.
  • Storage in the designated food drop storage area.
  • Standley Chasm food drop storage fees included.
  • Rubbish bag supplied for your used packaging and waste.
  • Rubbish collection and disposal.
  • Collection of the empty container after your food drop.

Standley Chasm – Food Drop Location

The food drop storage room is located to the right-hand side of the toilet block near the showers at Standley Chasm.

No storage key is required to access your food drop at Standley Chasm.

Additional Services Available

  • Additional 55L food drop containers – $50 each at the same location.
  • Gear retrieval – $60. Leave unwanted gear for collection and return to your Alice Springs accommodation.
  • Additional hiking supplies and gas canisters available by arrangement.

Important Information

  • The date selected on the booking calendar is your trek start date, NOT your expected arrival date at Standley Chasm.
  • Containers must be packed, securely closed, clearly labelled and ready for collection from your accommodation reception / storage room by the agreed collection time.
  • Please provide your expected arrival date at Standley Chasm during booking.
  • All food and supplies must fit inside your booked container(s).
  • Mobile phone reception is limited or unavailable along much of the Larapinta Trail.
  • No storage key is required for this location.
