Our Ormiston Gorge food drop service provides a convenient and reliable way to restock your food and hiking supplies while trekking the Larapinta Trail.

What’s Included – $90 First Container

• 55L food drop container hire – Suitable for approximately 1–4 hikers, depending on food and supply requirements.
• Pre-trek container delivery to your accommodation reception / storage room, normally the day before your arrival.
• Collection of your packed container from your accommodation.
• Transport and delivery to Ormiston Gorge.
• Secure storage in the designated food drop storage room.
• Rubbish bag supplied for your used packaging and waste.
• Rubbish collection and disposal.
• Collection of the empty container after your food drop.

Ormiston Gorge – Food Drop Location

The food drop storage room is located on the western side of the Ormiston Gorge kiosk.

A storage key is required to access the room and retrieve your food drop container.

Please ensure you have arranged a storage key before reaching Ormiston Gorge.

• Gear retrieval – Leave unwanted gear for collection and return to your Alice Springs accommodation.

Important Information

Containers must be packed, securely closed and ready for collection from your accommodation reception / storage room at the arranged time.

Please ensure all containers are clearly labelled with your booking details.

Food drop containers remain the property of Larapinta Shuttle & Larapinta Legends.
