Going solo? You don’t have to spend a fortune to become a Larapinta Legend!

We know that hiking the Larapinta Trail solo can be expensive, especially when it comes to transfers, food drops and trail logistics.

That’s why Larapinta Shuttle & Larapinta Legends have created an affordable package specifically for independent hikers.

Enjoy reliable local support, three food drops and a scheduled shuttle pickup at Redbank Gorge without the expense of hiring a private vehicle.

YOUR SOLO LEGEND PACKAGE INCLUDES

1. REDBANK GORGE TO ALICE SPRINGS TRANSFER

Your package includes one scheduled shuttle transfer from Redbank Gorge back to Alice Springs at the end of your hike.

Choose your pickup time:

• 11:00 AM
• 5:00 PM

Pickup location: Coach parking area, approximately 100 metres south of the main Redbank Gorge trailhead.

Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled pickup.

This is a shared scheduled shuttle service, not a private vehicle.

IMPORTANT – YOUR BOOKING DATE IS YOUR FINISH DATE!

The date and time you select when booking are for your Redbank Gorge pickup at the END of your hike, NOT your hiking start date.

Please provide your actual hiking start date separately during booking.

2. THREE FOOD DROPS

Your package includes three food drop locations:

• Standley Chasm
• Ellery Creek South OR Serpentine Gorge – your choice
• Ormiston Gorge

You must nominate either Ellery Creek South or Serpentine Gorge as your second food drop when booking.

Your package includes three 55L food drop containers, delivered to your nominated Alice Springs accommodation before your hike, collected and transported to their designated food drop locations.

Container hire, delivery, collection, associated handling and rubbish disposal are included.

3. FOOD DROP STORAGE KEY HIRE

Storage key hire is included in your package.

Your key will be placed inside one of your food drop containers before your hike.

IMPORTANT: Remember to take your key with you when you start hiking. You’ll need it to access your food drops along the trail.

4. 24-HOUR EMERGENCY MOBILE CONTACT

Have peace of mind knowing you have a local contact for assistance throughout your adventure.

Our 24-hour emergency mobile contact allows you to request help with unexpected changes, urgent pickups and trail support.

Mobile reception is extremely limited along the Larapinta Trail. We strongly recommend carrying a PLB or satellite communication device.

5. EMERGENCY TRAIL SUPPLIES & SUPPORT

Need extra food, replacement gear or an unexpected pickup?

We can help arrange emergency supplies, trail support and additional transfers where available.

Additional supplies, deliveries, transfers and support services incur extra charges and are subject to availability.

6. DISCOUNTED HIKING SUPPLIES

Solo Legend customers receive discounts on selected:

• Hiking gas canisters
• Hiking clothing

7. OPTIONAL TELEGRAPH STATION TRANSFER

Starting your adventure at Alice Springs Telegraph Station?

Add a discounted transfer from your Alice Springs accommodation to the Telegraph Station when booking.

This is an optional extra and is not included in the base package price.

OPTIONAL GEAR RETRIEVAL

Decide you don’t need certain gear while hiking?

Place unwanted gear securely inside your food drop container and tick or mark the Gear Retrieval box once you’ve finished using that container.

We can arrange collection and return of your unwanted gear for an additional fee, subject to availability.
